Comparing intelligence, creativity and aggressiveness in children with and without preschool education

Abstract

Introduction: children's achievement in the primary school depend on preschool events. Factors such as physical, cognitive and social development, Knowledge and learning development has role in achievement in school. The aim of this research was comparing intelligence, creativity and aggressiveness in children with and without preschool education.
Materials and Methods: This case-control study was accomplished in 1394 year. For this, 80 students of primary schools in Gonbad city were selected by cluster sampling. Instruments for data collection were Wechsler Intelligence Test, Torrance Creativity Test and Vahedi et al. Aggression Questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS software and t-test and two-way ANOVA.
Results:  Results showed that there are significant differences between children with and without preschool education in intelligence (t= 6.04, P=0.0001), creativity (t= 7.44, P=0.0001) and aggression (t= 5.41, P=0.0001). The effect of interaction between gender and preschool education on intelligence were not significant for intelligence (F=0.32, P=0.58), but it was significant for creativity (F=41.38, P=0.0001) and aggression (F=14.27, P=0.0001).
Conclusion: The pre-school education can lead to increased intelligence and creativity and decreasing aggression in primary school.
