Consequences of the Covid-19 epidemic: Nurses' challenges in caring for children nurses in child care

Abstract

Background & objectives: Covid-19 pandemic Pediatric nurses face challenges in child care that can affect the delivery of effective and quality care. The aim of this study was to identify the pediatric nursing challenges faced by Covid-19.
Materials and Methods: A integrative review of studies (2019-2020) on challenge pediatric nursing determinants was done in English. PubMed, Embase ProQuest, Science Direct, Google Scholar were searched using the following keywords: covid-19، SARS-COV-2، pediatric nursing، adolescence، child، practitioner، childhood، nurse practitioner، coronavirus infection، pandemics.
Result:  finally 11 eligible studies were included in this review. Challenges facing pediatric nurses can be found in eight categories: disease transmission, deficiencies, displacement, reduced vaccination rates, masks and reduced communication, psychological problems of children, pediatric nurses, and Covid-19 vaccine injections and training.
Conclusion: The Covid-19 pandemic has posed many challenges to pediatric nursing around the world; Therefore, in order to solve these challenges and support nurses, managers can provide effective coping strategies at different levels with proper planning to manage resources and rely on training.
