Investigating the Relationship between Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Job Satisfaction in Health Insurance Staff of Khorasan Razavi Province-1989

Abstract

Introduction: A review of the research literature on organizational citizenship behavior(OCB) and job satisfaction indicates that both of these variables play a peculiar role in the success of an organization in achieving its objectives. With this background in mind, the current study was investigated to assess the relationship between job satisfaction and OCB of employees working in the Health Insurance Department of Khorasan Razavi.
Materials and Methods: This analytical-correlational research was conducted on all the staff employed in the Health Insurance Department of Khorasan Razavi Khorasan Razavi in 2019 using a practical design. The data collection tools included demographic form, a researcher-made organizational citizenship behavior questionnaire, and  Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ). The obtained data were analyzed in SPSS software (version 16) using descriptive and inferential statistics, including Pearson correlation and linear regression.
Results: As evidenced by the obtained results, mean OCB and its dimensions, as job satisfaction among employees working in the Health Insurance Department of Khorasan Razavi Khorasan Razavi. Pearson correlation coefficient showed a weak relationship between job satisfaction and OCB (r = 0.285; P= 0.016).
Conclusion: In today's world, the ability to develop various methods to bring innovation to employee job satisfaction and create an excellent process in organizations is of utmost importance due to the major role of human resources. To promote OCB among employees working in Health Insurance Department, the leaders should increase employee job satisfaction, which in turn, results in improved OCB through direct involvement.
